Dr. Boglárka Szabó, a trainee lawyer at Gellér Law Firm, participated in the English-language seminar “The Scope and Application of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights”, held in Riga on 5–6 June 2025 and organised by ERA (The Academy of European Law).

The seminar specifically focused on defence counsel work and brought together over 30 legal professionals from various EU Member States. Through the presentation of case law from the Court of Justice of the European Union, participants deepened their understanding of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights and received practical guidance on how to effectively invoke the Charter in criminal proceedings.

The knowledge acquired at the event is of particular relevance for our legal practice, as our firm regularly submits motions in support of initiating preliminary ruling procedures before the Court of Justice of the European Union.
