Extradition symposium in Italy
Dr. Balázs József Gellér gave a lecture at an international symposium in Italy, which was attended by dozens of lawyers and law professors from around the world. The symposium explored the international issues surrounding extradition, considering both European regulations and international relations. There were general lectures at the symposium, as well as contributions from speakers who presented their national practices and specific legal cases. The symposium discussed the latest developments in law, evidenced by one of the general lectures given by the English lawyer who participated in Julian Assange's (WikiLeaks) case, and information about the extradition was available in the media on one of the seminar days. Dr. Gellér particularly addressed European developments, focusing on the framework and guarantees for the enforcement of fundamental rights (clients' rights).
