Dr. Boglárka Szabó, a trainee lawyer at Gellér Law Firm, participated in the English-language seminar “The Scope and Application of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights”, held in Riga on 5–6 June 2025 and organised by ERA (The Academy of European Law).
On the 17th June 2025, the Department of Criminal Law of ELTE University Faculty of Law hosted a meeting of the Criminal Lawyers’ Informal Club, where we had the honour of celebrating our esteemed colleague, Dr. András Vaskuti, honorary university professor and retired judge of the Curia, on the occasion of his 70th birthday. To mark this special occasion, we prepared a Festschrift comprising 20 scholarly articles on criminal law, contributed by colleagues and friends.
The ICC Statute was signed by the Republic of Hungary on November 15, 1999. Parliamentary Resolution No. 72/2001 (XI. 7.) provided for the ratification of the Statute. Based on this resolution, the instrument of ratification was deposited on November 30, 2001. According to Government Resolution No. 2201/2003 (IX. 4.), a Hungarian government delegation may participate in the annual meetings of the Assembly of States Parties.
Last night (April 6, 2024), on RTL Klub’s program Házon kívül, Dr. Balázs Gellér was asked how it is possible to convict someone of murder when no bodies have been found.
On March 6, 2025, Dr. Éva Gellérné Lukács received her habilitation certificate at the Faculty of Law of Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE). The diploma was presented during the ceremonial inauguration by László Borhy, Rector of ELTE.

The European Arrest Warrant: Two Decades of Visions and Legal Reality
On December 17, 2024, the news portal index.hu published an in-depth analytical article presenting Dr. Balázs Gellér's legal perspective on the statute of limitation in this tragic criminal case. The article highlights Dr. Gellér's views on the circumstances and consequences of the amendment to the Criminal Code (Btk.) and the importance of providing justification for legal regulations and the state's obligation to criminalize certain actions.
